RAJOURI, Jan 8: While condemning police action incide the only J&K Bank Branch at Kotranka, Apni Party vice president and former MLA Darhal, Ch Zulfikar Ali has demanded opening of a new J&K Bank branch at Kotranka, in Rajouri district.
In a press statement, Zulfkar projected demand in view of chaos witnessed at the already existing J&K Bank branch at Kotranka. He expressed his anguish over the police action inside the Bank branch Kotranka which has left a poor woman injured. He said the woman Zareena Begam, resident of Marutha village, had come to the bank along with many others, who were lined-up in large numbers waiting for their turn.
Apni Party leader demanded that the Police action should be investigated and the erring police official be punished. He questioned police action inside the branch which was over crowded because the bank is not able to cater to the needs of hundreds of people. He said single branch cannot handle the pressure of work and therefore, the Govt must step in to sanction another J&K Bank branch at Kotranka.
