16 tourists injured as mini-bus rolls down

UDHAMPUR, Jan 9: Around 16 tourists hailing from New Delhi were injured when the mini-bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and rolled down into gorge near bridge Mada here this evening.
As per police sources, a mini-bus bearing registration number JK08B-9978 carrying tourists from New Delhi was on its way from Patnitop to Base Camp of Mata Vaishno Devi shrine at Katra, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it rolled down into gorge near bridge Mada, resulting into injuries to 16 tourists. A total of 22 tourists were travelling in the vehicle at the time of accident.
After getting information, a team from Police Station Chenani led by SHO Inspector Pushpinder Singh rushed to the spot and started rescue operation.
All the rescued injured persons were rushed to CHC Chenani, where they were undergoing treatment, when last reports came in.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Chenani and investigation started.
