POONCH, Jan 11: Former MLC and elected DDC member from Mandi block Dr Shehnaz today said that the candidates of Gupkar Group befooled the public by creating false narrative to vote in their favour for the restoration of article 370 and 35A, but now they do not seem to be living up to their promises.
Dr Shehnaz was addressing a huge public gathering at Sawjian in Mandi block. A large number of supporters of Dr Shehnaz from Sawjian, Gagrian, Barari, Khait, Chhambar Kanari and Bedar Panchayats today had gathered there to welcome their DDC member.
Expressing her indebtedness to the people for reposing faith in her, the former MLC said she will try her best to live up to their expectations. She said that to win or lose the elections is a part and parcel of politics but we should welcome the verdict of the public with brave heart.
She told the gathering that public representatives are accountable before the public and now they must be asked to fulfill their promises. She urged upon the district administration to play key role in solving the difficulties of the people of this snow bound area.
Speakers on the occasion said that they are lucky enough to have a visionary leader like Dr Shehnaz who has the potential to take up the public issues with the higher authorities and resolve them in an efficient manner.
