JAMMU, Jan 13: A delegation of College Teachers Association (CTA) led by its president, Dr Rakesh Jasrotia met Lt Governor, UT of J&K at Raj Bhavan, here, today and complimented him for resolving long pending demand of College teachers of allowing them to act as Guides and co-guides in arts steam.
They appealed him to allow the same for science stream and apprised him of the various issues of College teachers. The issues brought to his notice through a memorandum included restoration of monetary benefits from the date of eligibility on placement to higher AGP, restoration of Incentives of increments for higher qualifications of PhD and MPhil, Implementation of UGC regulations of July 2018 in toto, enhancement of age of superannuation, delegation of powers to Directorate of Colleges and Appointment of Director Colleges from amongst the Principals of colleges only, rational and transparent transfer policy for college teachers, hassle free permission for pursuing full time PhD and grant of study leave thereof.
Governor after listening the demands of the college teachers assured that the same shall be resolved at the earliest. Others who were part of the delegation were, Prof. Sandhya Rani vice president, Prof. Amit Kumar Sharma, general secretary and Prof. Qayoom Chouhan, Finance secretary.
