JAMMU, Jan 15: J&K unit of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) today celebrated the 65th birthday of its national president and former UP Chief Minister, Mayawati.
A function was held in this regard under the supervision of Somraj Majotra, J&K BSP president in which Member Parliament, Rajaram was the chief guest.
Rajaram in his address said that Mayawati is leaving no stone unturned to achieve the ultimate goal of capturing political power at the Centre.
“The government at Centre led by BJP has no intention to help the deprived section of the society. They are just making the masses fool for the sake of vote bank,” he claimed.
Somraj Majotra criticized the BJP led Government at Center for depriving the people of their rights.
He said that Mayawati had told the party workers not to celebrate her birthday with huge gatherings.
“She has asked the party workers to observe January 15 as a day of austerity and distribute clothes and blankets among the poor, so we did the same today,” he maintained.
Shashi Thappa and Pritam Chand, general secretaries; Tulsi Dass Langeh, R.L Chargotra, Kuldeep Chalotra, Raman, district president Kathua; Pradeep, district president Samba; Tilak Raj Bhagat, Raj Kumar Chalotra, Pawan Gupta, Abdul Gani Aftab and others were also present on the occasion.
