JKTA raises burning issues of teaching fraternity

UDHAMPUR, Jan 17: The district unit of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Association (JKTA) raised various burning issues of the teaching fraternity, in its meeting held here today under the leadership of UT president Bhupinder Singh and district president Sudesh Kumar.
The meeting was attended by a large number of teachers from all 11 zones of district Udhampur. While speaking on the occasion, Bhupinder Singh raised various issues of teachers including release of pending arrears of 7th Pay Commission of Grade ll/lll teachers from 2016, inclusion of Grade ll/lll teachers and 3rd Teachers in newly drafted transfer policy as these teachers have been working in the same schools for last 20 years.
Singh sought inclusion of 5 years ReT period for seniority benefits as same was given vide Government Order Number 469 dated 25-06-2014. He also demanded removal of pay anomaly of teachers as teachers of J&K UT are placed in the pay grade of 2800 whereas teachers of other UTs are placed between grade pay of 4200 to 5000.
Sudesh Kumar highlighted other demands such as regularization of ReTs who have completed their 5 years ReT period, appointment of ZEOs in headless zones across the JK UT so that teachers may not suffer more, conversion of left out RReTs to Teachers Grade II/III as some cases are withheld due to adverse CID reports, DPC of teachers to masters and restoration of old Pension Scheme and scrapping new Pension Scheme.
Prominent among others who spoke on the occasion were UT coordinator Sunil Salaria, UT legal advisor Varinder Sharma, UT finance secretary Sanjeev Guleria, provincial chief coordinator Charan Dass and provincial secretary Nasib Chand.
