JAMMU, Jan 17: All Artists Association here today organized election to constitute its executive body.
A handout stated that Rakesh Anand has been elected as Association chairman; Satish Chander as vice chairman; Surinder Singh Manhas, president; Shashi Gupta, general secretary; Abhishek Bharti, joint secretary/PRO and Rampal as cashier.
Apart from this, Tilak Raj Tagotra was made senior advisor and Garu Ram and Neeraj Verma were made Advisors.
The Association also discussed the issues and problems of artists.
It was resolved to strengthen the Association for efficient functioning to watch and protect interests of artists especially those who are poor and needy.
It is pertinent to mention here that following lockdown last year all activities of artists came to a standstill and to project their difficulties and problems All Artists Association of Jammu was formed during COVID-19 pandemic last year.
The Association took up issues of Jammu division’s artists with the government and financial relief for artists.
Darbari Lal, Darshan Taroch, Vicky Gill, Ajay Raina and Slokas were also present on the occasion.
