REASI, Jan 17: Continuing offensive to contain the spread of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, Mahore police today arrested a drug peddler from Jamaslan area and recovered more than one kg cannabis from his possession.
The accused, identified as Zulfikar Ahmed, son of Shamas Din of Jamaslan, was involved in supplying and selling of narcotics in Mahore, Chaklas, Shajroo, Jamaslan, Mulas and Sildhar area of Tehsil Mahore.
From the possession of the arrested person, 26 challis, weighing 1 kg and 10 grams of cannabis, were recovered and seized. Case FIR Number 02/2021 under sections 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Mahore.
During preliminary investigation it has come to notice that the accused had bought the consignment from Katra area to sell it to the youth of Mahore and surrounding areas.
Recovery was made by I/C SHO Mahore Mohd Rafiq, under the supervision of SDPO Mahore Dr Khalid Ashraf and Addl SP Reasi, Surjeet Bhagat.
