PDD linemen project demands

JAMMU, Jan 18: All Jammu and Kashmir Electric Department Linemen and Workers Union (Jammu), today projected their burning issues in a meeting held today.
The meeting in this connection was held under the chairmanship of its president, Ashiq Hussain. The members expressed serious concern over the death of a PDD daily wager, Ali Mohd at Banghu near Thanna Mandi in Rajouri district recently. He was electrocuted while working on 11 KV line. Hussain said death of Ali Mohd took place due to negligence on the part of a PDD official/ officer.
Union demanded to hold proper inquiry and take stern action against the staff member responsible for it. It also demanded suitable compensation for the family members of Ali Mohammed.
Ashiq Hussain also expressesd serious concern over the serious injuries caused to PDD worker Gopal Dass , son of Bodh Raj, while working on 11 KV line. He has been shifted to Amritsar in Punjab for treatment.
Other office bearers, Pawan Sharma, Anil Singh, Tara Chand and Vijay Gupta urged upon the Chief Engineer and other higher authorities to provide suitable compensation/ financial help to Gopal Dass and Ali Mohd.
