Executive meet of AJKLTF concludes, Devraj Thakur re-elected as President

JAMMU, Jan 18: During the two- day State executive meeting of All Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation (AJKLTF) under the aegis of Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM), the new State unit was unanimously announced.
Dr Devraj Thakur and Ratan Sharma were announced as President and General Secretary respectively. Darshan Bharti was declared as Senior Vice President. Avni Sen, Shivdev Singh, Gulshan Raina and Neeraj Parihar as State Vice Presidents.
Renu Sharma, Gurdeep Singh, Satya Bushan and Sanjay Kumar were announced as State Secretaries. Sanjay Katoch has been announced as Treasurer, Kartar Chand as Internal Auditor, Pawan Sharma as State Media Incharge and Ashok Kumar as incharge Shaikshik Prokosht.
Pardeep Kumar, Radha Krishan, Zorawar Singh, Rakesh Kumar and Anoop Sharma were announced as State Executive members.
The Executive Committee meeting concluded at Trikuta Yatri Nivas Jammu here today. Mahindra Kapoor, All India Organising Secretary of ABRSM was the chief guest on the occasion. State Executive members of AJKLTF from across the Jammu Province participated and discussed the organizational functioning and highlighted various issues and demands of teaching community.
In the two- day meet, different sessions were organized, where the participants were apprised how teachers can play their role in education sector in Jammu and Kashmir (UT). Dr Vikrant Sharma, prominent Orthopedic surgeon and social activist was the main speaker in the valedictory function. He threw light on the role of teaching community and explained how teachers can guide their students in a better and shape their future. He also stressed on the teachers to distribute patriotic and religious literature among the students and build a learning habit among them.
Mahendra Kapoor, National Organising Secretary of ABRSM, spoke on the organizational journey and asked the participants to extend organizational activities upto the grass root level and create an atmosphere in the society, where society stands with the teachers’ community in national interest.
Teachers also discussed various issues like, DPC of all subjects, transparent Transfer Policy, pay anomalies of Teachers/Masters, Head Teachers salary, lack of teaching staff in the schools, introduction of new subjects, functioning of ICT Labs, Earned leave of teachers engaged in Summer or winter tutorials, RETs transfer Policy, reorganisation of Zones and Teachers grade at par with other UTs etc.
