UDHAMPUR, Jan 18: The people from remote Latti and Dudu area of district Udhampur have demanded posting of MBBS doctors in the area.
Sarpanch Latti, Kasturi Lal Gupta and Sarpanch Dudu, Dev Raj told the Excelsior that there is no MBBS doctor at Primary Health Centre, Latti; New Type Primary Health Centre (PHC), Dudu and even New Type PHC, Panchount or Jakhed Hospital. They said a population of over 60,000 has been deprived of the proper health care facilities by the Government.
They pointed out that for the last over two decades no Director Health or senior Health Officer ever visited this remote area and reviewed facilities for the general public. There is not even a single lady doctor available and no X-Ray technician at PHC Latti though X-Ray machine has been provided during last year.
They appealed to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary, J&K to provide doctors in these hospitals and upgrade PHC Latti to CHC level as already promised with the people of the area by the previous BJP-PDP Govt.
