Global Solace declares results of letter writing competition

JAMMU, Jan 21: Global Solace, Jagti today declared the winners of the letter writing competition for KP Children to Prime Minister. The competition announced on November 29 last year in junior and senior categories was kept open till December 20.
Haresh Raina, S/o Sandeep Raina and Neenu Ganjoo from KV, CRPF, Bantalab, Jammu have been declared the winner in the senior category while Kartik Bhat. S/o Kamal Krishan Bhat and Sonu Bhat from BSF Seniorr Secondary School, Paloura, Jammu are runner up and Khushboo Bhan, D/o Ramesh Chander Bhan and Sunita Bhan from Heemaa Public High School, Jagti are the second runner up.
Harsh Bhat, S/o Tej Krishan Bhat and Rekha Bhat from Government Higher Secondary School Jagti Township are the winner in junior category. Neil Garoo S/o Sunil Garoo and Arti Pandita from DPS, Indrapuram, Ghaziabad are at the second place followed by Kadambari Bhat, D/o Sandeep Bhat and Soney Pandita from Creative and Advanced Training School, Jammu at third place.
Bhavna Pandita, chief coordinator of the campaign said all participants will get appreciation letters and their names will be appended to winning letters for purpose of sending to the Prime Minster. A request will be made to the Prime Minister to acknowledge the voices of children in his “Mann ki Baat”.
The winners will be honoured at a later date and given a cash prize of Rs 11000; Rs 7000/- and Rs 5000 for the first three positions respectively.
The competition was judged by a panel of 10-member jury comprised of Prof Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, Central University Jammu; B L Bhat, patron Global Solace and social worker; Avtar Bhat, Special Correspondent, Daily Excelsior, Jammu; Prof B L Zutshi, writer and thinker; Roshan Lal Bhat, founder-director, Heema Public School, Jagti; Madhulika Handoo, Human Rights Specialist and humanitarian worker; Madhur Tankha, senior journalist, Avtar Nehru, journalist, documentary filmmaker and editor Curriculum-magazine.com; Dr Rajinder Tikoo, Professor (retd) Sher-i-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences & Technology, Kashmir; Rajan Nakhasi, author, actor and activist.
Kiran Wattal patron of Global Solace expressed his satisfaction over the smooth conduct of the competition and assured children that their message will be taken to the Government at the highest level.
