Mughal road re-opened for light vehicles

POONCH, May 16: Mughal road which was closed to traffic after avalanche near Peer Ki Gali two days back, was opened to light motor vehicles today.
Executive Engineer, Mughal Road Project Abdul Ghani said that about six snow clearing machines had been engaged to clear the snow from the road in past two days. He said the avalanche prone areas were also cleared and examined and thereafter the road was made through for the light motor vehicles today.
The R&B Xen said that today nearly 300 light vehicles on both sides plied on Mughal Road. He said no vehicular movement will be allowed after 4 pm and before 8 am and in case of bad weather the movement of vehicles will not be allowed. He said the road in Pir Panjal pass area was still slippery and R&B Department was taking all the precautions. Mr Ghani said that after a few weeks, the road will also be thrown open to heavy vehicles.
