JAMMU, May 16: There seems no end to the indefinite strike carried on by Patwaries and Girdawars across the State, which entered into 39th day today.
The strike by Patwaries and Girdawars is being observed under the banner of All Jammu and Kashmir Patwar Association, to press the Government to consider their demands favourably.
Today, the protesting Patwaries and Girdawars of Jammu district assembled at Tehsil Headquarters Jammu and held a demonstration in support of their demands.
District president, Jammu, Mustaq Ahmed Ganai, while addressing the protesters, said it is unfortunate that instead of fulfilling the genuine demands of cadre, the Government is trying to suppress their agitation by issuing orders of stopping the salary of agitating Patwaries and Girdawars. He held the Government responsible for the sufferings of common people due to strike.
Sanjeevan Sharma, Tehsil president, Jammu, warned the Government not to try the patience of Patwaries and Girdawars. He said that the ongoing indefinite strike will continue till the Government issues a formal order of approval of their demands.
He asked the cadre to remain vigilant and fight for the common cause to get justice from the Government.
