JAMMU, Jan 23: A meeting of All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) was held at Jagti township under the leadership of B K Raina in which the problems being faced by displaced Pandits were highlighted.
The meeting appealed to Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha to look into the problems of displaced KPs for redressal in the first instance, till return and rehabilitation policy is finalised so that the community which has been worst hit by displacement is not put to more hardships.
AIMCCC president, Desh Rattan Pandita said that due to wrong policies and failure of administration KPs sufferings are increasing day by day.
He alleged like Congress, BJP Government at Centre has also failed to settle the issue of Kashmiri Pandits living in exile for last over 31 years. Having high expectations from present dispensation at Centre it seems this Government is also toeing the line of Congress so far as return and rehabilitation of displaced Pandits is concerned.
He alleged that no Government since 1990 took the issue of KPs displacement seriously to find out the ways and means for their honourable and dignified rehabilitation in their homeland Kashmir and demanded a policy be framed on rehabilitation of Pandits.
He said the community has been deprived of all welfare schemes started by Union Government for the people of J&K with the result the youth of the community are in desperation.
Others present in meeting were P N Jalali, J L Raina, M L Booni, Raj Kumar Koul, Ramesh Pandita, Anjli Kar, Priya Dhar etc.
