JAMMU, Jan 24: Councillor of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Pritam Singh today inaugurated drain work at Shanker Colony in Ward 55 here.
A handout stated that the work will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 14.46 lakh.
The drains in the area were in dilapidated condition since long and the locals there especially the elders were facing a lot of problems while moving through these lanes.
While talking to reporters Pritam Singh appealed the general public to come forward and co-operate JMC in ensuring development works in Jammu city.
He urged upon the locals of the area to avoid single use plastics and polythene in routine work and don’t throw debris, garbage etc in drains, lanes and nallahs.
The Councillor asked the locals to adopt the habit of segregation of dry and wet garbage at their own level so that Jammu can be made neat, clean, green and beautiful city.
Omkar Singh Jamwal, Ward President; P.K Koul, Kulwant, Rampal Choudhary, Mohan Lal Pandita, G.I Raina, Madan Lal, Sunil Kashaya, Sanjay Bhan, Kuldeep Mehra and others were also present on the occasion.
