Educational institutions celebrate 72nd Republic Day with patriotic fervor

JAMMU, Jan 27: Educational institutions celebrated 72nd Republic Day with patriotic fervor and zeal.
Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sirmaur celebrated 72nd Republic Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. The event started with a guard of honour to Prof (Dr) Neelu Rohmetra Director IIM Sirmaur followed by flag hoisting in the transit campus of the institute at Rampur Ghat Road Paonta Sahib Himachal Pradesh. The Indian tricolour flag was hoisted by Prof Neelu Rohmetra in the presence of faculty, staff and students of IIM Sirmaur. Later, faculty staff and students gathered in the auditorium of the institute to celebrate and honour India’s constitution and spread the power of unity. Students who were not on the campus joined the celebrations in online mode. The celebrations began with a brief lamp lighting ceremony. Prof. Neelu Rohmetra congratulated to IIM Sirmaur fraternity on the occasion of Republic Day of India. She addressed the gathering by explaining our constitution which helps us in understanding our rights and duties. She further added the essence of the patriotic spirit and how one can always contribute to the upliftment of society and the nation. She motivated the gathering by saying that wherever we live or in whatever condition, we should aspire to fulfill our duties. She also said that we should never lose our confidence because of our mistakes. The celebrations also witnessed marvellous cultural performance by a few members of the staff and student community. The event management committee of the institute organized the celebrations as per the latest guidelines received from the Government. Prof Rinki Dahiya, co-convener of event management committee gave the vote of thanks. The celebrations were anchored by Arjun Raj, a first-year MBA student of the institute.
Republic Day was celebrated at IIT Jammu Campus. Kritash, the Social Welfare Wing of the Institute led by the student coordinator, Himanshu Meena who along with his team organized a cloth donation drive for the underprivileged residing around the campus. Republic Day parade was organized by the team of security guards present on campus. Director of the institute Prof Manoj Siingh Gaur unfurled the National Flag. Various items were presented by the students.
Republic Day was celebrated by CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Canal Road, Jammu. Dr D Srinivasa Reddy, Director, IIIM hoisted the National Tricolour and took salute at the ceremonial march past by the security men of CSIR-IIIM, Jammu. Meanwhile, Regional Research Laboratory High School, Canal Road, Jammu being run by CSIR-IIIM, Jammu under the aegis of Colonel RN Chopra School Society also celebrated 72nd Republic Day. Anita Wazir Incharge Principal hoisted the National Tricolour in the school campus.
Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Jammu celebrated Republic Day by organizing a small virtual as well as in person gathering at the campus. The event commenced by National Flag hoisting which was followed by singing of National Anthem. Prof BS Sahay, Director of IIM Jammu, addressed the students of the institute. The students of the institute also participated in the event through various performances like speech, poem recitation, dance performance, act on Constitution and many more. The programme ended with singing performance by the faculty of IIM Jammu.
Republic Day was celebrated at the University of Jammu. Teaching faculty, officers, staff and students of the University of Jammu were present on the occasion. Prof. Manoj K Dhar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu unfurled the National Flag and released the Tri-Colour Balloons in presence of Prof Arvind Jasrotia, Registrar, Prof Jasbir Singh, Controller Examinations, Prof Kulwant Singh, Director DDE, Prof Sanjana Kaul, Prof Parkash C. Antahal, Dean Students Welfare, Prof Anupama Vohra, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee, Prof Samridhi Arora, Co-Chairperson Campus Cultural Committee, Prof BK Bajaj, Associate Dean SW and other faculty and staff of the University. Prof. Parkash C Antahal delivered the welcome address. Guard of honour was presented by the Jammu University Security Guards led by Capt SR Dubey, Chief Security Officer. Cultural items were presented by children of university employees. In the end, Prof Anupama Vohra presented formal vote of thanks.
Republic Day was celebrated at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra. Padamshree Prof RK Sinha, Vice-Chancellor, unfurled the national flag and addressed a large gathering comprising research students, faculty members, and staff, and security personnel. The students of SMVDU prepared an online/recorded event to lift up the cultural spirits of the university under the guidance of the Board of Cultural Activities and DSW.
SKUAST-Jammu celebrated 72nd Republic Day, Prof JP Sharma, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-J hoisted the national flag at Faculty of Agriculture, Main Campus, Chatha. All the statutory officers of the University, Head of the Divisions, Faculty members, non-teaching staff and students attended the Republic Day celebrations.
Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University celebrated Republic Day with patriotic fervour and gaiety. Mohammad Ishaq Registrar of the University unfurled the National Flag. Faculty members, officers and officials were present on the occasion.
Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotism at Jammu University’s Bhaderwah Campus. On behalf of Rector Bhaderwah Campus Prof Rahul Gupta, Assistant Professor Department of Management Dr Umesh Chowdhary unfurled the tricolour. Members of civil society, Panchayat members, people from Village Sungli, students from various departments, both teaching and non teaching staff were present on the occasion.
Dogra Group of Colleges viz. Dogra College of Education, Dogra Law College Dogra Degree College and General Zorawar Singh Rifle Club celebrated 72nd Republic Day in Bari Brahmana Campus with patriotic fervor. On behalf of Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister and Chairman, Dogra Educational Trust, Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary Dogra Educational Trust hoisted the National Flag followed by National Anthem. Dr Vikesh Kumar Sharma, Principal, Dogra College of Education was also present on the occasion.
As part of Republic Day celebrations, NSS Unit of KC College of Education organized an Online Quiz Competition on the theme “Indian constitution, struggle for freedom, warrior of Indian Independence”. The event was organized under the supervision of College Principal Dr Sanjay Tickoo and NSS PO Priya Gupta.
Kawa College of Education celebrated 72nd Republic Day by organizing colourful programme and flag hoisting in the college premises. The students of BEd course participated in the programme and presented patriotic cultural programme after the flag hoisting. The Flag hoisting was done by the Managing Director of the college Abhimanyu Katoch whereas all staff members witness the programme.
Republic Day was celebrated in the premises of Guru Teg Bahadur College of Education Lakhanpur Kathua. The National Flag was unfurled in the college premises by the Chairman of the institute Vardeep Singh in presence of staff members.
Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing celebrated Republic Day by organizing colourful programme and flag hoisting in the college premises. The students of BSc Nursing, Post Basic BSc Nursing, GNM and paramedical courses participated in the programme and presented patriotic cultural programme after the flag hoisting. The Flag hoisting was done by the Chairman of the college MS Katoch whereas all staff members witness the programme.
Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur celebrated Republic Day. The National Flag was unfurled by the chief guest Managing Director of the college Ashok Khajuria. Dr SK Magotra, Principal of Bhaskar Degree College, Rishi Padha, member of managing committee and other members of the management committee were present on the occasion.
SVS Degree College for Women Rajouri celebrated Republic Day. The flag hoisting was done by BJP J&K General Secretary Vibodh Gupta, senior Congress leader Ashok Sharma along with the college Principal Shamshed Ahmed. They were joined by Surinder Bakshi, Ashwani Sharma and Raja Ram in celebrating the day.
GDC Vijaypur celebrated Republic Day by hoisting National Flag. Principal of the College Dr Sangeeta Sudan and faculty members delivered speeches.
Government Degree College Dudu Basantgarh organized Online Inter-College Slogan Writing Competition on the theme “Incredible India” to commemorate Republic Day. The competition was held under the supervision of Principal of the College Dr Bhavnaish Chand. Organizing Secretary Prof Rahul Sharma coordinated the competition with help of Prof Pardeep Kumar and Imtiyaz Ahmed Dar. In this event, Shuvam Mankotia of GDC Billawar got first position, while Radha Kumari and Palma Devi of GDC Dudu Basantgarh clinched second and third positions respectively. E-certificates were given to all the winners.
Cultural Committee of GDC Samba organized a series of online inter-collegiate competition on the theme ‘Republic Day: The Constitutional Commitment”. Various events were organized, in which students from various institutions took part. The participants were adjudged by Prof Pawan Kumar Gupta, Dr Ram Singh and Dr Seema. Winners of respective events were awarded with merit certificates and all the participants got e-certificates. Principal Prof (Dr) Naveen Anand, Prof Shivali Rattan Convener Cultural Committee, Prof Kamaljeet, Prof Preeti Gupta, Prof Purvaiya Hans, Prof Sukvinder Kour, Dr Asha Devi, Dr Manjulla Gupta and Dr Geeta Lakhotra were present on the occasion.
NSS Unit and Cultural Committee of Government Degree College Kunjwani/Sainik Colony Jammu celebrated Republic Day. The ceremony commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by Principal Dr Anil Kumar Ganjoo. Dr Savtanter Kour Convener Cultural Committee, Dr Manjeet Singh NSS Programme Officer, Narinder Paul Sharma (PTI) GDC Kunjwani and students were present on the occasion.
GCW Gandhi Nagar celebrated Republic Day. On the occasion, the Principal Dr Sangita Nagari unfurled the National Flag. NSS and NCC volunteers also participated in the event.
72nd Republic Day was celebrated in Government Medical College and Associated Hospitals Jammu. Dr. Shashi Sudan Sharma, Principal GMC&AH hoisted the National Flag at GMCH, CD Hospital, Psychiatric Disease Hospital, SSH, SMGS, MCH, Boys Hostel GMC and Girls Hostel GMC in the presence of concerned Medical Superintendents of the Hospital. Dr Dara Singh, MS GMC, Dr Arun Sharma, MS SSH, Dr Rajeshwar Sharma, MS CD Hospital, Dr Manoj Chalotra, MS SMGS, HODs from various departments, wardens, students, nursing staff and paramedics were present on the occasion.
Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk Jammu celebrated Republic Day. On this occasion Er Arun Bangotra, Principal of the institute hoisted the National Flag and threw light on the importance of the day. The others who were present were Er Rajesh Gupta HoD Automobile, Rajesh Khajuria TPO, Er Mehmood Ahmed, Er Ishan Gautam, Er Sajjad Hussain, Dinesh Kumar, Guminderjeet, Toshi, Sports Teacher, staff and students of the college.
Government Degree College Marh celebrated Republic Day. The flag hoisting was done by Principal of the institute Prof Aekta Gupta in presence of staff and students. Sukhnandan Chowdhary Ex-MLA, Sarpanches of the Marh and prominent citizens were also presented on the occasion. On the occasion Shamli Devi of Semester-I presented a speech about the Republic Day.
GDC Ghagwal celebrated Republic Day. The National Flag was hoisted by Prof Suresh Kumar Sharma, Principal of the institute in the presence of teaching, non-teaching staff and students of the college. A short speech on importance of the Republic Day was delivered by Prof Suresh Kumar Sharma.
Republic Day was celebrated in Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Kud. Sarpanch Upper Kud Kuldeep Sharma along with all panchs unfurled the National Flag. Principal of the institute along with staff members and prominent citizens were present on the occasion. A brief cultural programme was presented by the students.
On the occasion of Republic Day, the National Flag was unfurled in SRML HSS Parade Jammu by the Principal Anjali Gupta, School contingent presented March past.
GHSS Keri celebrated Republic Day. Nashatar Singh, Sarpanch Halqa Keri was the chief guest and Principal Ravinder Kour presided over the function and unfurled the National Flag. ASI Anwar Hussain from Police Station Gharota, Naib Sarpanch Halqa Keri, all PRI members and citizens were present on the occasion.
Government Girls Higher Secondary School Satwari celebrated Republic Day. Principal of the institute Surjeet Singh hoisted the National Flag in presence of staff members and students.
Republic Day was celebrated at Government Mixed HSS Purkhoo Camp Jammu. The National Flag was hoisted by Principal Ramesh Kumar Hakim in presence of staff members and students. Different cultural programmes were presented by the students.
Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mubarak Mandi Jammu celebrated Republic Day. Principal of the institution Anita Zutshi unfurled the National Flag in presence of staff members and students.
Republic Day was celebrated in the premises of Government Girls HSS Kandoli Nagrota. Chairman BDC Nagrota Choudhary Rehmat Ali hoisted the National Flag in presence of heads of different departments of the tehsil Nagrota. Sultana Koser, Principal of the institute threw light on the importance of the day. Guard of honour and March past was presented by NCC Cadets of the school viz police and CRPF personnel. Government Girls High School Sangrampur, Marh celebrated 72nd Republic Day with fervour. The National Flag was hoisted by Municipal Councillor, Ghara Ram who was the Chief Guest while Ex-Headmaster, Gopal Sharma was Guest of Honour.
Government Middle School Tichka celebrated the Republic Day wherein the National Flag was hoisted by Roshan Lal, Sarpanch Lower Kangri, Sunderbani.
Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana celebrated 72nd Republic Day with patriotic fervour. Managing Director RHS, Gambhir Dev Singh Charak hoisted the Tricolour.
