Govt drugs seized from shop, house

JAMMU, May 17: Police today seized a large quantity of Government medicines and Physician samples, the date of some of which had expired, from a chemist shop and residence of the owner at Simbal Morh.
Police said they raided Tanya Medical Shop and its owner Dharmeet Singh son of Ranjeet Singh’s house at Simbal Morh and recovered a bag full of Government drugs and Physician samples from the house and shops.
Some of the seized drugs carried expiry dates, they said.
Dharmeet Singh was running the shop on the license of Surjit Singh of Basti Govindgarh.
Police said they also took the assistance of Drug Inspectors during the raid.
Police have arrested Dharmeet Singh and booked him under NDPS Act at Miran Sahib police station.
Police parties headed by SDPO RS Pura Diwakar Singh and SHO Miran Sahib Ravi Parihar made the arrest and recoveries.
