The protesters assembled in the Press Enclave and raised slogans in support of their demands against the Government, particularly the Commissioner Secretary and Director Education.
The teachers in the protest who said that they have been empanelled in 2015-16 criticised the Government for failing to issue their appointment orders causing mental agony to them.
“Our protest is against the Government’s delay tactics in issuing our appointment orders as the same has been even directed by the High Court after the case was taken to there,” said Mudasir Rather who was leading the protest.
The teachers said that the High Court has issued a clear cut direction in their favour but the Government was only giving hollow assurances hopes to them.
“If the Government continues to do the same, then we will have no option but to hit the streets as we don’t have any others means of livelihood while as the majority of candidates have crossed the upper age limit, putting us out of the race of finding any other job,” he said.
The protesting teachers demanded implementation of court order while appealing the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to personally look into the matter and get their issues resolved.
