JAMMU, Jan 28: Senior leader of Apni Party and former minister Ch Zulfikar Ali today expressed serious concern over the long pending incomplete developmental projects in the district.
While addressing a public rally at Kotranka in Rajouri district, Zulfikar said that the developmental projects have come to stand still in the district in absence of a popular Government in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that “the people are not being given heed by the officials in tehsil and even in district offices of the Government and developmental activities are going on at a snail pace.”
“Different developmental projects which were started during the last popular Govt in J&K are yet to be completed,” he said and further added that the projects like Anas Irrigation project, Kotranka-Khawas road, Degree College building at Kotranka, eco-tourism park; amusement park in Kotranka, all PMGSY roads and other sectors are the glaring examples of poor developmental work,” Zulfikar said.
He said that the Health sector has nosedived in Rajouri with shortage of specialist doctors in different hospitals of the district, equipment and health infrastructure. He said that the people of Rajouri being charged with exhibitory electricity bills and the unscheduled power cuts have put their lives out of gear. Zulfikar said that J&K Bank, Kotranka should improve its working and it should open another branch for the facility of the people to deal with the rush of the people.
Zulfikar also demanded protection of land, employment for the residents of J&K and restoration of statehood. He also said that the benefit of schemes like MG-NREGA and PMAY not reaching the beneficiaries in the district.
“The Govt should make the corrective measures which are required at a massive level in both these schemes so that the poor and needy people can get the benefits of the Central schemes at every household,” Zulfikar added.
