JAMMU, Jan 28: District Development Council Member Surankote, Mohd Shahnawaz Choudhary today called on Commisioner/ Secretary Higher Education at his office and raised various issues demanding their redressal on priority basis.
In a written representation Shahnawaz mentioned the nature of the region from that of Jammu and also made him aware that Surankote got a Degree College building constructed last year only. His demands further included construction of a boundary wall around the college, a separate boys and girls hostel, accomodation for the staff, shifting the working schedule of the college to winter zone from summer, a transformer/genset for adequate electricity supply, macadamised road inside the college campus, permanent faculty for science stream and addition of subjects like Philosophy, Literature, Psychology and Public Administration in the college curriculum.
Shahnawaz in his interaction told the Commissioner that in this time of competition and globally shrinking world our students also deserve access to quality education as well as diversity in their subjects. The comfort and convenience of the future of our region can no more be ignored so it’s imperative on both you and us to lend an attentive ear to their genuine demands and positively fulfill their aspirations.
