Woman dies, 63 test +ve

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/LEH, Jan 28: A woman died of COVID-19 in Kathua town while 63 persons tested positive for the virus in Jammu and Kashmir and 149 others recovered today.
A 48-year-old woman from Ward No. 2 in Kathua district died of multiple ailments and COVID-19 in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu today.
With today’s casualty, Corona toll in Jammu region has gone up to 720, the highest being 370 in Jammu district followed by 64 Doda, 57 Udhampur, 55 Rajouri, 52 Kathua, 40 Samba, 24 Poonch, 22 Kishtwar, 21 Ramban and 15 in Reasi district.
Eighteen persons tested positive for Coronavirus in the Jammu region today including 13 in Jammu district, three Samba and one each in Rajouri and Poonch districts. Six other districts of the region didn’t report any fresh cases today.
As against 18 new cases, 97 infected persons recovered from the virus, 94 in Jammu district alone, two Poonch and one in Rajouri district.
Jammu region now has 51505 Corona cases. Among them, only 297 are active positives as 50488 have recovered from the virus and there have been 720 casualties.
Meanwhile, 45 people tested positive for Coronavirus in Kashmir today.
Those who tested positive include 26 from Srinagar, 5 Baramulla, 1 Pulwama,   3 Kupwara, 5 Anantnag, 1 Bandipora, 1 from Ganderbal, and 3 from Shopian.
As per officials figures, 26,126 positive cases including 454 deaths and 25,376 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,101 including 174 deaths and 7,889 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,758 including 7,598 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Budgam, 5,710 including 5,565 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,650 including 95 deaths and 5,523 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,892 including 4,751 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,688 cases including 4,605 and 61 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,606 including 4,499 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,692 including 2,611 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,569including 2,497 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Shopian.
With fresh cases, the number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 72,792 including 70,914 recoveries and 1,212 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 963 including 666 from Kashmir division.
With 149 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 121,402, which is 97.67 percent of the total cases.
Meanwhile, the UT of Ladakh today reported 17 new Corona cases, all in Leh district.
Ladakh now has 9705 cases including 63 active positives and 129 deaths.
