DHSK forms committees to monitor, manage ER Rooms across Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 29: The Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) has ordered the formation of various committees for the enhancement of functioning and monitoring of Emergency Rooms (ER) across various hospitals under the control of the Directorate across Kashmir region.
The committees, include a Central ER Team, Coordinators (Central Level), Advisory Board, Curriculum Committee and Zonal Teams in various districts.
All the committees have been given different roles to perform across Kashmir aiming at streamlining the ER Rooms across Hospitals.
The tasks that have been given to the Central Team include overall monitoring of the functioning of ER Rooms; suggest novel strategies, ways and means for further upgradation of ER Rooms.
“The committee will take periodic reviews of Zonal ER Teams on regular basis, and will also remain in touch with the DHSK while as the monthly meeting will also be held with the DHSK in which reports of the functioning of ER Rooms will be submitted and interpreted in coordination with the advisory board,” reads an order issued here.
The committee, as per the directives, will also suggest proposals for training and skill up-gradation of doctors, paramedics and other allied healthcare workers.
The members of the committee have also been directed to work in close coordination with the principal RIHFW Dobiwan, State Epidemiologist for organising training for doctors, paramedics and other healthcare workers.
The Central Team consists Dr Kaiser Habib, Cardiologist JLNM Hospital Srinagar, Dr Masood Rashid, Consultant Anaesthetist CHC Gousia Srinagar, Dr Maajid Jehangir, Consultant Surgeon, SDH Kreeri and Dr Manzoor Rather, Consultant Anaesthesia DH Ganderbal.
Further, the Coordinators (Central Level) which include Dr Yasir Wani, Consultant Paediatrics, SDH Kremshore, Dr Mir Mushtaq, Medical Officer DH Pulwama and Dr Zahid Nasti, Medical Officer CMO Srinagar have been tasked to coordinate amongst DHSK, Central ER Team and Zonal ER Teams along with other coordinating tasks.
The Advisory Board that has been constituted by the DHSK, as per the directives, will be responsible for devising strategies and protocol from time to time for emergency rooms and will also devise protocols for ER management for all age groups.
The Board includes Dr Muhammad Saleem Bhat, Consultant Physician DH Ganderbal, Dr Irshad Tabasum, Consultant Orthopaedics JLNM Hospital Srinagar, Dr Sahil Iqbal, Consultant Anaesthetist SDH Gurez, Dr Ruhana Ali, Consultant Gynaecologist CHC Gousia Srinagar, Dr Masarat Sultana, Consultant Paediatrics DH Ganderbal, Dr Suhail Naik, Consultant Paediatrics SDH Sopore, Dr Irfan Ul Shamas, Consultant ENT DH Pulwama and Dr Gowhar Nabi, Medical Officer DH Pulwama.
The Curriculum Committee that has been formed, as per the directives, has been tasked to devise, upgrade and do time to time review of all training protocols such as BLS, ACLS, ATLS, ERTC and ECG including other training modules that are done under the aegis of DHSK.
The Committee consists of Dr Arshad Rafi, Principal RIHWF, Dobiwan, Dr Akhtar Ganai, Consultant Surgeon, JLNM Hospital Srinagar, Dr Iqbal Fateh Khan, Consultant Anaesthesia DH Budgam and Dr Imran Masood, Consultant Physician SDH Magam.
The teams will also be responsible for the conduct of skill upgradation training at district and sub-district level. The Zonal Teams in consultation with the local health administrators will also nominate medical and paramedical staff working in the vital sections of the hospital for necessary training.
