DQA discusses various measures to impart quality education in SMVDU

KATRA, Jan 29: In its 5th annual meeting organized today in the campus of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) Katra, Directorate of Quality Assurance (DQA) of the Varsity deliberated on various issues related to faculty, staff and students in order to impart quality education to the students of the University.
The meeting was chaired by Prof (Dr) Ravindra Kumar Sinha, Vice Chancellor (VC) SMVDU and was attended by Ramesh Kumar (CEO, SMVDSB), Anil Suri (MD, M/s Tawi Arc), Manik Batra (chairman, ASSOCHAM J&K Chapter), Director DQA, Deputy Director, DQA, all Deans, Registrar, Chairman of various subcommittees of DQA, Faculty-in-charge Examination and Placement Officer.
Various issues were discussed in the meeting including creation of a learning-centric environment, development and maintenance of database, reduction in use of paper, development of quality culture in the institution, academic & administrative audit, green audit, initiatives taken up by the DQA for performance monitoring, review of question papers, student feedback on teaching & learning among others.
The members also discussed the steps to be taken to improve the University’s NAAC ranking and other rankings. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University has been listed in the NIRF ranking at 78th position among Engineering Institutions and under top 100 among Indian Business schools. Also SMVDU ranked 71st position in The Times Higher Education Impact (SDG 7).
The external members provided quality suggestions which were incorporated for further improvements. The meeting concluded with vote of thanks presented by Dr Ananga Kumar Das, Director, DQA.
