Doda becomes Corona free; one dies, 76 +ve

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Jan 29: One person died of COVID-19 while 76 persons tested positive for the virus and 215 others recovered in Jammu and Kashmir today.
Meanwhile, Doda today became the first district in the Union Territory with no active case. All three active positives in Doda district today recovered from the virus leaving no case there.
An 83-year-old man from Hazratbal area of Janglatmandi in Anantnag district died today in the Valley taking death toll to 1933 in J&K including 1213 in Valley.
Srinagar district with 454 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 174, Budgam 117, Kupwara 95, Pulwama 88, Anantnag 85, Bandipora 61, Kulgam 54, Ganderbal 46 and Shopian 39.
Jammu region today reported 16 new Corona cases, 11 of them in Jammu district, three Udhampur and one each in Samba and Poonch districts while rest of six districts didn’t report any fresh case.
As against 16 positive cases, 115 Corona patients recovered in the Jammu region today, the highest being 60 in Samba district, 48 Jammu, three each Poonch and Doda and one in Udhampur district.
Jammu region now has 51521 Corona cases including 198 active positives and 50603 recoveries. There have been 720 casualties in the region, the highest being 370 in Jammu district followed by 64 Doda, 57 Udhampur, 55 Rajouri, 52 Kathua, 40 Samba, 24 Poonch, 22 Kishtwar, 21 Ramban and 15 in Reasi district.
Meanwhile, 60 people tested positive for Coronavirus in Kashmir today.
Those who tested positive include 32 from Srinagar, 10 from Baramulla, 5 Budgam, 07 from Kupwara, 4 from Anantnag, one Bandipora and one from Kulgam.
As per officials figures, 26,158 positive cases including 454 deaths and 25,434 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,111 including 174 deaths and 7,893 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,763 including 7,605 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Budgam, 5,710 including 5,565 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,657 including 95 deaths and 5,527 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,896 including 4,756 recoveries and 85 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,689 cases including 4,606 and 61 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,606 including 4,509 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,693 including 2,613 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,569 including 2,506 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Shopian.
With fresh cases, the number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 72,852 including 71,014 recoveries and 1,213 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 823 including 625 from Kashmir division.
With 215 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 121,617 which is 97.78 percent of the total cases.
Meanwhile, the UT of Ladakh today reported nine new cases of COVID-19 including seven in Leh district and two in Kargil.
