POONCH, Jan 30: Principal District and Sessions Judge, Poonch has convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment to murder accused Sarwar Khan, son of Sultan Khan of Thanamandi, in Rajouri district.
The accused was facing trial in case FIR No. 16 /2011 u/s 302 /RPC and 27 /30 Arms Act of Police Station, Surankote. The Judge sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for life and also to pay a fine of Rs 10,000 for commission of offence under sec 304 IPC apart from the five years rigorous imprisonment for offence under section 27of Arms Act and six months for section 30 of Arms Act.
Accused person compelled deceased on fateful day to accompany him for hunting in DKG forest and killed him with licensed weapon there. Prosecution was conducted by Maqbool Hussain, Public prosecutor, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Poonch.
