KARGIL, Jan 30: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor (CEC) LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan reviewed the progress and present status of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin (PMAYG) Scheme in Kargil district for 2020-21 during a meeting of concerned officers at Council Secretariat here today.
Executive Councilor for Social Welfare, Aga Syed Hassan Armaan, Executive Councilor for Works Mubarak Shah Nagvi, Executive Councilor for Rural Development, Phunsog Tashi, Executive Councilor for Health Muhammad Ali Chandan, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Kargil Ghulam Muhammad besides concerned Block Development Officers (BDOs) attended the meeting.
During the course of the meeting, threadbare discussions and deliberations were held regarding identification of the eligible beneficiaries and implementation of the PMAY scheme at ground level in various blocks of the district.
Feroz Khan said that he has received various representations from elected representatives including Councilors, Panchayat members and other concerned that while identifying eligible beneficiaries for enlisting their names under the PMAY scheme they are not taken into confidence by the concerned departments.
CEC directed the concerned officers to ensure participation of the elected representatives in identifying beneficiaries for proper implementation of the scheme on ground adding that the genuine cases of beneficiaries eligible for PMAYG scheme may not be left out. He also directed the BDOs concerned to make clear the new guidelines and rules of PMAYG scheme to public representatives and general public so that confusion may not arise in future.
Khan further asked the ACD Kargil to propose design of houses to be constructed by the beneficiaries to higher authorities in line with the climatic conditions of Kargil.
Meanwhile, ACD Kargil Ghulam Muhammad informed the meeting that identification of beneficiaries for PMAYG scheme as per the guidelines of Government of India (GoI) has been completed by the field staff of the department by conducting door to door survey of every household throughout the district adding that the same has also been cross checked by BDOs concerned in their respective areas.
He said that during the survey, 3136 beneficiaries were identified throughout the district out of which 786 beneficiaries have been shortlisted by higher authorities in the online process, adding that about 100 beneficiaries will be selected for this year.
