Two arrested with illicit liquor

JAMMU, Jan 30: Sudh Mahadev and Pouni Chak Police arrested two persons along with large quantity of illicit liquor.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Post Sudh Mahadev led by Inspector Balram Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Chenani conducted raid and apprehended a person along with 20 litres of illicit liquor and around 15 litres of lahan from his house.
The arrested person has been identified as Charan Dass, son of Khem Raj, a resident of Marothi.
A case under relevant Section of law has been registered at Police Station Chenani and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Post Pouni Chak arrested a man along with 51 bottles of illicit liquor.
The arrested person was identified as Param Jeet Singh, son of Tara Singh, a resident of Gho Manhasa district Jammu. He was selling the illicit liquor among the people on exorbitant rates in Bhagatpur area.
A case under FIR Number 31/2021 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Domana and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Police Post Pouni Chak Inspector Mukhtiyar Ali made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Domana Inspector Chanchal Singh, SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma.
