JAMMU, May 18: A major tragedy averted when an air conditioner of a car exploded in Panjtirthi area of the winter capital.
Police spokesman said that, an i10 car bearing registration number JKO2AH-0020 of Ashok Kumar, son of Ishwar Dass of Panjtirthi caught fire as the air conditioner installed in the vehicle caught fire.
On getting information, police rushed to the spot and extinguished the flames, but by that time, the vehicle was damaged by over 70 per cent.
No casualty has been reported, while police has taken the cognizance.
