National Painters’ Camp concludes at Patnitop

UDHAMPUR, Jan 31: Organized by Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA) Jammu, 3-day National Painters Camp at Patnitop concluded today.
A valedictory ceremony was graced by Ramesh Arora (former MLC and senior BJP leader) as chief guest and Bharat Gandhi (former MLA Ramban) as guest of honour.
Ten artists of different States and Union Territories of the country participated in the camp. The camp was curated by O P Sharma, renowned artist and director, JKCCA Jammu while Joginder Pal Sharma, senior artist from Sunderbani, was the coordinator of the camp.
The artists who participated in the camp includ Neena Singh (Pune), Vibha Singh (Noida), Archana Chaudhary (Madhubani), Dr Mamta Singh (Dehradun), Dharminder Sharma and K S Gill (Amritsar), Dr A K Dixit (New Delhi), Tariq Saifi (Surankote) and Jang S Verman, Deepa Soni and O P Sharma (Jammu).
Speaking on the occasion, Ramesh Arora said that O P Sharma and his team have taken good initiatives to work for the cause of promotion and preservation of art, culture and literature in the region.
O P Sharma said that the works created in the camp would add to the collection of JKCCA and give a reflection of the mediums, art trends and styles being practiced by the contemporary artists of the country.
