Punjabi mushaira held

JAMMU, May 18: Kanchan Art Society and Kaltegra in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages organised a Punjabi mushaira, in which 15 poets participated.
On the occasion, Nazir Ahmed from Department of PHE was the chief guest, while Sarpanchs and Panchs were also present.
Rajnesh Bittu, Chairman, J&K Cooperative Society, presented the welcome address.
Popinder Singh Paras, said that academy should organise such programmes in the remote areas of the State so as to aware the masses about the culture and literature.
Shamsher Singh Chouhalvi, president, Kanchan Art Society, said that the Academy is providing every facility to the writers, artists and poets, who are associated with the society.
The poets, who recited their poems were Resham Kour, Balwinder Singh, Bachan Bharti, Swami Anter Neerav, Bhupinder Bhargav, etc.
