JAMMU, Jan 31: Positive Minds – the Selfless Group comprising children of different age groups and different schools today organized an awareness campaign on the banks of Tawi, urging people not to pollute river Tawi by dumping garbage and plastic waste besides follow traffic rules strictly.
Addressing media persons, Diya Dubey urged the general public along with other volunteers not to put garbage and hazardous products in the river, whereas Osheen highlighted the issue of problems being faced by the commuters and pedestrians with regard to the unauthorized parking and encroachment of footpaths and front areas of their respective paths by the shopkeepers.
Shivanya Sharma appealed the people not to use cell phones while driving and use seatbelts and follow traffic rules.
On the occasion, Shiv Kumar Sharma, SSP Traffic, Jammu was the chief guest and participated along with children to highlight the advantages to follow traffic rules for their own good.
Messrs Reet Dutta, Ridhima, Vanshika, Jasnehdeep Singh and Eliza Mahi were among the volunteers who participated in the event.
