JAMMU, Feb 4: Akhnoor Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 2290 intoxicant capsules and tablets from their possession.
As per police sources, during checking at old bridge a team from Police Station Akhnoor intercepted a scooty bearing registration number JK02CE-8339.
During checking, police team recovered 2290 intoxicant capsules and tablets from the possession of two persons riding on the scooty and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Anmol Bhat, son of Hirday Nath Bhat of Laxmipuram, Chinore and Naresh Kumar, son of Shail Singh R/o Kot Maira Khour.
During initial questioning, the accused persons stated that they used to sell these intoxicant capsules and tablets among the youngsters and have purchased the same from Mohit Medicos, Bari Brahmana.
A case under FIR Number 30/2021 under Sections 8/20/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
The arrest was made by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Ravi Singh Parihar under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial, SP Rural Sanjay Sharma and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
