JAMMU, Feb 7: Bharat Sevashram Sangha’s (BSS) Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory branch whose motto is the ‘service towards humanity’, following the ideology of its great founder Swami Pranavanandaji Maharaj distributed clothes among the poor and needy people at Kot today.
Swami Satyamitranandaji Maharaj, secretary, BSS JK UT and Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Chander Mohan Gupta distributed clothes among the needy persons where other prominent citizens were also present. Expressing his utmost satisfaction over the Sangha’s commitment towards the service of humanity, Mayor said the BSS must spread its selfless activities in Srinagar also. He noted that the activities of such organizations highlight and reinvigorate our ethical traditions and serve as a guiding force for the betterment of humanity.
He gave kudos to BSS for their social welfare programmes and appealed to the Sangha to continue its humanitarian services for the underprivileged sections of the society. He said that BSS members in J&K took many initiatives during natural calamity, Medical Relief for Shri Amarnath Shrine pilgrimage and Mata Vaishno Devi. Mayor also wished success to Narinder Kumar Gupta, rural district secretary BJP Kot for doing noble service after retiring from Government Job.
The function was held in the residence of Narinder Kumar Gupta. Swami Satyamitranandaji Maharaj, incharge BSS JK UT also highlighted activities of the organization in his address. He said BSS distributed clothes among the poor and needy people every year.
