KATHUA, Feb 7: Police said that a team of Lakhanpur Police Station led by Inspector Sanjeev Chib SHO, Lakhanpur under the supervision of Additional SP, Ramnish Gupta while on patrolling duty intercepted a suspicious truck bearing Registration Number JK02AC-8569 which was being driven by driver namely Surjeet Kumar, S/o Sat Paul of Tanda R S Pura who was accompanied by Anayat Ali, s/o Bashir Ahmed of Chack Murar, Bishnah district, Jammu and Karam Din, S/o Baj Sin of Indra Nagar Kharian tehsil, RS Pura , Jammu which was signalled to stop for checking.
During checking of the vehicle 14 bovines were found loaded in the vehicle illegally. In this connection a case, vide FIR Number 23/2021 under sections 188/IPC 11/PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Lakhanpur and further investigation has been geared up.
It may be recalled that Lakhanpur police led by SSP, Kathua Dr Shailendra Kumar Mishra has intensified its vigil against the bovine smugglers and drug peddlers in the district.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Nagrota during checking near Jagti intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK19-6927.
During checking, police team rescued 4 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who were identified as Aslam Shah, son of Alam Shah and Shabir Shah, son of Yousaf Shah, both residents of Ukhral district Ramban.
A case under FIR Number 60/2021 has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shoket made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota, Parupkar Singh and SP Rural Jammu, Sanjay Sharma.
