JAMMU, Feb 8: The kin of police personnel who died during service today held a protest against inordinate delay in settlement of SRO cases.
Scores of youth assembled today outside Press Club Jammu and started raising slogans against the Police Department for not settling their SRO cases for last many years.
The protesting youth said that their late fathers were working in Police Department and died during service and they, who were supposed to get Government job in the Department under 43/376, have been struggling for their settlement for last many years.
They said that under these SROs, approximately 48 orders have already been settled by the previous Government and one of them got ordered for his settlement by the present Chief Secretary while all other files are lying pending for settlement in Chief Secretary’s office.
“Our files have already been approved by all concerned departments and moreover our medical check up and physical measurement have also been done,” they said, adding, many of them are getting overage and due to non-settlement of their cases, they are unable to get marry.
The protesting youth said that their families have been suffering from acute financial condition and hardships due to inordinate delay in their settlement cases. They appealed the Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene into the matter and issue orders for speedy settlement of their SRO cases.
