Pvt Schools Association meets Fee Fixation Committee Chairperson

JAMMU, Feb 9: A delegation of executive members of Central body of J&K Private Schools Association, led by its President Kamal Gupta, called on Justice (Retd) Muzaffar Hussain Attar, Chairperson Committee for Fee Fixation & Regulation of Private Schools, here today.
General Secretary of the Association, Ajay Gupta apprised Muzaffar Hussain Attar about the turmoil created among most of the Private Schools due to the delay in the appointment of Chairman of the Fees Fixation Committee (FFC) by the Government of J&K. He deliberated that approval of the fee structure has become mandatory for all Private schools functioning from Nursery to 12th as per FFC order no. 01FFCof 2019 dated 28/01/2019. To bring uniformity & to prevent commercialization and exploitation, he demanded quick disposal of all files before the commencement of new academic session 2021-22.
Members urged to the Chairperson FFRC to demand files only from those Private Educational Institutions whose fee is yet to be regulated or from those Private Educational Institutions who want review or enhancement in their fee structure more than 6 percent annually.
Kamal Gupta demanded Inclusion of representative of J&K Private Schools Association as an expert member in FFRC as per the provision laid in sub section (4) of Section 20 A of the J&K School Education Act 2002. He also demanded that all unbridled Educational Institutions from Nursery to 12th should be brought under the ambit of FFRC without any delay to curb the mushrooming and to bring uniformity in the system.
Justice (Retd) Muzaffar Hussain Attar listened to the members patiently and assured them to establish judicious and transparent mechanism for the approval of the Fee structure to stop exploitation and harassment at all the stages.
The members who accompanied the deputation, included Rameshwar Mengi (Vice President JKPSA), Ajay Singh (Member Central Body), Satpaul Mansotra (Distt President Kathua), Thomas Ooman (Distt Vice President Udhampur), Naresh Kumar and Subash Chib.
