Highest 42 guests from POK arrives, only 2 Kashmiris cross to POK

SRINAGAR :  The Highest number of 42 guests from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) arrived here while only two, second lowest,crossed over to other side of the Line of Control (LoC) at Kaman post, the last Indian Military post on this side of the border in Uri sector.
As many as 16 returnees also crossed sides on the LoC after completing stay with their relatives, separated in 1947,official sources said here today.
They said 42 POK guests, including 16 women and six children, arrived at Kaman post after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge on foot.
This was the highest number of POK guests during 2013 as earlier highest was 28 on May 6.
The number of POK guests arriving in Kashmir increases with the onset of summer while it remains low during winter because of cold here.
Source said four Kashmiris, who had gone to POK also returned to their homes after completing stay on other side of the LoC. They included a woman.
However, only two Kashmiris crossed to other side of the LoC in the Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating since April 7,2005 between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, capital of POK.
This was the second lowest number of Kashmiris, crossing over to POK. Earlier lowest was one on February 11.
However,12 POK residents, who had come here in previous buses, also returned to their homes. They included three women and as many children.
