JAMMU, May 21: Jammu today recorded season’s maximum 44.5 degree Celsius and minimum 28.5 degree.
It was hottest day of the season in Jammu city.
“There will be no respite from blistering heat in the next couple of days,”, a MeT Department official here said.
He added that showers are expected only by the end of the month as fresh Western Disturbance is likely to hit Jammu and Kashmir from May 25.
However, in the next 24 days, the weather is likely to be mainly dry across the state. Heat wave conditions are likely to continue over the plains of Jammu division till May 24.
People however, stayed indoors while the roads wore deserted look due to scorching heat.
Various parents associations of different schools have also appealed to the Education Department to announce summer vacation holidays at least one-week prior to the scheduled time in view of hot weather conditions.
