JAMMU, May 21: The Vice Chairperson (MoS), J&K State Advisory Board for the Welfare and Development of Scheduled Castes, Swarn Lata, convened a review meeting of the General Administration Department, Planning and Development Department, Housing and Urban Development Department, Social Welfare Department and Education Department in her office chamber here at Pragati Bhawan, Rail Head Complex.
During the meeting latest position regarding decisions taken in various Board meetings was discussed in detail. All the decisions and their latest progress reports were discussed one by one and instructions were issued accordingly for implementation.
Major issues which were discussed in the meeting included proposal for dropping the condition of minimum percentage for scholarships, proposal for provision of reservation for SCs in Rehbar-e-Taleem, implementation of reservation rules in letter and spirit, maintenance of roaster register and timely release of funds under Central Schemes (SCA to SCSP) due to which many developmental works are hampered.
After detailed discussions, Swarn Lata asked all departments to expedite the action for implementation of decisions of various Board meetings of the J&K State Advisory Board for the welfare and development of SC community.
