JAMMU, May 21: Police today arrested a notorious gangster involved in various offences including attempt to murder case registered at Satwari Police Station.
Police spokesman said that, on specific information, police party from Satwari police station laid a naka and intercepted an alto car without registration number.
During questioning, it came to fore that the driver of the car identified as Babbar Choudhary of Chack Mohd Yaar, RS Pura is notorious gangster and was involved in an attempt to murder case registered at Satwari police station under FIR no 58/13, he added.
Babber is wanted in around 14 cases registered at different police stations, he said.
The alto car he was driving has been seized, whereas the bolero car used in attempt to murder case was also seized on his disclosure, spokesman said, adding that further investigation is going on.
Police party led by probationer DySP Shabir Khan made the arrest under the direct supervision of SDPO Uday Bhaskar and Officiating SSP Rajeshwar Singh.
