SUNDERBANI, May 21: Residents of Sunderbani town including Beopar Mandal members held protest demonstration against the Power Development Department (PDD) for frequent power cuts today.
The Beopar Mandal president, Koushal Gupta was leading the protest. They came out on Jammu-Pooch highway at around 5 pm and blocked it to lodge their protest. The traffic remained suspended for about an hour on this busy highway. They alleged that people were facing lot of hardships due to long power cuts.
Later, Tehsildar Nowshera moved to the site and pacified the agitating people. He assured to take up the issue with the concerned PDD officials and sought one week time in this regard. On his assurance, the people then lifted dharna on the highway and restored traffic.
