BLSKS presents 48th Friday Musical Concert Series

JAMMU, Feb 12: To celebrate the National Women’s Day and to promote the Duggar traditional culture of J&K, the artists of Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) in coordination with Sangam Tru Art Production presented its 48th Friday Musical Concert Series “Nari Shakti” During Quarantine Time at open air theatre, Durga Bhawan Janipur, here, today.
The program was inaugurated by J.K.Koul, Free Lancer writer, producer director and chief patron of JK Bhoomi Welfare Society who was the chief guest on the occasion. Among the guests of honor were J.K.Raina, Free Lancer – Producer Director Films, V.K.Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Dr. Tara Singh Charak, former Deputy Director, Health Department J&K Government.
The day commemorated with sole aim of empowering women through traditional, primitive folk, art and culture of J&K in particular and Indian nation in general. Specially songs aimed at making women powerful in every sphere of life such as written by M.L.Dogra and composed by Raju Bajgal were presented. The songs specially prepared on the theme “ Khud Ko Tu Pehcahn Le Nari Shakti Ko Jaan Le”, “Hum Sab Ek Hai ”, “Himat Se Kam Karege Roshan Nari Ka Naam Karege ”, “Beti Bachao Beti Padao”, “ Nari Kabi Na Hari Hai Har Chetar Mai Agldi Hai” were presented by renowned artists. The chief guest called upon the Civil Society to enthuse women force for making our cultural traditions stronger and vibrant so that benefits of old dying traditions of flourishing society are revived. He urged the society to honor female generation at par with all without any discrimination and also said now, India celebrates Sarojini Naidu’s 142 birthday as National Women’s Day every year on February 13. Sarojini Naidu was not only a freedom fighter, but she also became the first woman Governor of the United Provinces, the present Uttar Pradesh.
Welcome speech was given by M.L.Dogra, Chairman, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan who highlighted the importance of challenging biases and misconceptions in the interest of creating a more inclusive and gender-equal society.
The singers, musician, actors and students of music and computer institute who participated in the musical concert were Usha Handoo, K.K.Joshi, M.C.Kotwal, Rajni Gupta, Raju Bajgal, Bindia Arora, Sanjeev Kumar Sodhi, Richu, Sudesh Manhas, Chahat Chadha, Rajinder Saini, Sudesh Kumari Pummy, Kamla Devi and many others. They presented enthralled performances. The vote of thanks was presented by programe Master Deepak Kumar.
