JAMMU, Feb 13: Reacting on specific information a joint team of Anti Polythene Check Post Lakhanpur headed by Munish Gupta, Range Officer halted a truck bearing registration number PB06 AK/ 3723 coming from outside UT.
During physical checking it was found to be loaded with 10 Nags/ 250 Kgs of banned Polythene carry bags below 50 microns in thickness concealed under cement bags. The truck along with banned polythene carry bags and cement bags was seized as per SRO 45 of 2017 dated 03.02.2017 read with different provisions of J&K Non-Biodegradable Material (Management, Handing and Disposal) Act, 2007 and J&K Non- Biodegradable Material (Management, Handing and Disposal) Rules, 2009.
The Department has also initiated action under rules against the defaulter. The whole operation was carried out under the supervision of Rahul Singh, DFO Kathua.
