JAMMU, May 22: Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad has expressed its reservations over the procedure adopted for deciding the merit of admission seekers for various PG courses in Jammu University.
ABVP has condemned university decision of keeping 40:60 ratios of entrance and academic marks and asked JU authorities to reverse the decision to its original position.
Earlier the entrance marks along with academic marks were in the ratio of 70:30 respectively but the same has been changed with nefarious consideration to 40:60 which undermines the whole entrance system, the ABVP observed during a meet held today.
The university authorities should have proceeded to increase the entrance wait age for attaining excellence in admission but it has reversed the process, the meet said adding that the latest decision creates doubts in the mind of various aspirants about the motive behind it.
Demanding admissions to various PG courses purely on entrance grounds only, the ABVP opined that it would definitely help university in admitting the excellent students in each course.
