JAMMU, May 22: Gandhi Nagar police today arrested an absconder, who was evading his arrest for the past 9 years.
Police spokesman said that, in the year 2004, Special Mobile Magistrate issued warrant under Section 512 against Sham Lal, son of Puran Chand of RS Pura.
After nine years, on specific inputs, police party from Gandhi Nagar police station led by SHO Rajinder Sharma laid a naka at Shastri Nagar and arrested the absconder.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
