Tributes paid to Rajiv Gandhi on 22nd death anniversary

JAMMU, May 22: Rich tributes were paid to Rajiv Gandhi on his 22nd death anniversary during a function organised by Block Congress Committee, Suchetgarh in RS Pura.
On the occasion, vice president, PCC Gurmukh Singh was the chief guest, while former Minister and general secretary RS Chib presided over.
The speakers said that Rajiv Gandhi played a vital role in improving the bilateral relationship with the USA and many other countries across the globe and subsequently expanded the economic and scientific cooperation.
RS Chib said that Rajiv Gandhi made valuable contribution in modernizing India and also had the vision and foresight to see that information technology will play a key role in 21st Century and worked actively to develop India’s capacity in the realm. He added that Rajiv Gandhi revolutionized IT and Telecom sectors.
“We must reunite and strengthen the Congress party to wipe out the poverty from our country”, said Gurmukh Singh.
Among others who spoke were senior PCC leader SR Sudhir, State president, All India Rajiv Gandhi Brigade, Sanjay Sawhney and Narinder Singh, vice president.
The proceedings of the function were conducted by block president Sobha Singh.
