Anuradha Puram plunges into darkness, Om Nagar people decry power cuts

JAMMU, May 22: The irate residents of Anuradha Puram Barnai and Om Nagar Udaywalla have protested against the power failure in there respective colonies.
The Anuradha Puram residents alleged that they were facing a complete black out in half portion of the colony after the local transformer developed a snag and despite the repeated pleas to the concerned authorities no efforts were made by them to restore the transformer. They said even after installing electronic metres the power supply has not improved in the area but worsened.
The same was the problem of Om Nagar Udaywalla residents who said that they are facing a repeated power cut of long duration after every hour for last two three days. The Residents Welfare Association representative Rajinder Kilm warned to resort to agitation incase the problem was not solved and power supply improved in the area as people were put to many hardships due to long duration power cuts in this hot Summer when mercury ahs touched over 45 degrees Celsius.
