SRINAGAR, Feb 17: J&K Apni Party (JKAP) Chief Altaf Bukhari today called Mehbooba Mufti a ‘thief,’ while saying that he is ashamed of having stood by a person who according to him looted the resources of Jammu & Kashmir.
He said that Mehbooba plundered the resources of J&K for her gains.
While referring to a recent statement of Mehbooba wherein she said that her party does not stand for the restoration of statehood, but Article 370, Bukhari said that she wants J&K to remain backward.
“I want to ask her how one can bring back 370 without restoration of Statehood. She wants this place to remain as backward, by opposing statehood what does she want to prove,” he said.
He said that it appears that she is doing this ‘drama’ at the behest of PAGD, while she calls others “team-B”
“What drama is she playing? She calls others the B team, so is she doing it for being A team,” Bukhari said while addressing the party leaders here.
Bukhari said that he wonders whether she (Mehbooba) deserves the respect which he gave him while he was in the party and said: “…the irony is that she opposed statehood at a place which is just 50 km away from the other side of Kashmir where two families are divided just because of leaders like her.”
He said that Mehbooba trying hard to hide her “illegal assets and properties” and is indulging in befooling people.
“Are we supposed to tell Ram Katha to people who are suffering or we are supposed to work towards mitigating the sufferings of people; Perhaps she is trying to hide her illegal assets and properties,” he said.
