Kathua police rescues 36 bovines, seizes trucks

KATHUA, Feb 17: District Police, Kathua succeeded in foiling bovine smuggling attempt in the jurisdictional area of Police Station, (PS), Lakhanpur and Police Station, Hiranagar by rescued 19 and 17 bovines respectively. The Police also seized the vehicles involved in smuggling of animals at both the places.
Police said a team of Police Station, Lakhanpur under the supervision of Inspector, Arvind Sambyal, SHO, Lakhanpur conducted routine naka checking and during that they intercepted a suspicious truck bearing Registration Number HR55S-1297 which was being driven by the driver namely Anwar Ali, S/o Munabar Ali of Tanda Tehsil Tanda Distt. Rampur,Uttar Pradesh.
On checking of the vehicle, 19 bovines were found loaded in it illegally.
A case vide FIR No. 29/2021 U/S 188/IPC 11/PCA Act has been registered in Police Station and further investigation is underway.
Police said a team of Police Station, Hiranagar succeeded in foiling bovine smuggling bid at Londi Morh and rescued 17 bovine animals along with seized the truck involved.
A team of PS Hiranagar under the supervision of Inspector, Surinder Sambyal while on routine Naka checking duty at Londi Morh intercepted a truck bearing Registration Number JK02BV-6687 being driven by driver MohammadYaqoob, S/o Roshan Din R/o Dinanagar, tehsil Gurdaspur.
During checking of the vehicle 17 bovines were found loaded in the vehicle which clearly shows that they were being illegally transported towards Kashmir Valley.
A case vide FIR No. 22/2021 U/S 188, IPC 11 PCA Act has been registered at PS Hiranagar and further investigation was set into motion.
Kathua police seeks support from people to share information about bovine smuggling on 100 with Police for the cause.
